Medical Systems Biology / Neurosciences
Otto Witte (Group Leader)
Focus on translational research on neurodegenerative diseases and ageing, fetal programming and transgenerational effects of stress and inflammation and sepsis. The group currently coordinates a EU-funded collaborative project (STREP, FP6) on system biology of ageing (ARGES: age-dependent inflammatory responses following stroke). We collected data (blood and brain samples) from more than 3000 mice of different ages (up to 24 months) in several experimental groups for transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics.
